Weather For Women's March, MLK Day Looks Grim: Forecast

With rain and wind in the forecast, it's not going to be a great weekend for outdoor events in Puget Sound.

SEATTLE, WA - It's going to be a typical winter weekend in Puget Sound with wet, windy weather. Unfortunately, the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. long weekend is packed full of outdoor events

Two major protest marches will happen in Seattle this weekend: the third annual Women's March on Saturday, and the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day march from Garfield High School to Westlake on Monday. On top of those events, there are many outdoor service projects in observance of the holiday.

If you're participating, bring a rain jacket, preferably one that's got some wind protection. Here's the full MLK Day weekend forecast for Puget Sound:

Friday night: Rain. Low around 46. Breezy, with a south southeast wind 11 to 16 mph increasing to 24 to 29 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 38 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers between 11am and 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. South southwest wind 16 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday night: A slight chance of showers between 11pm and 5am, then a slight chance of rain after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. South southeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: A slight chance of rain before 11am, then a slight chance of rain after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. North northwest wind 6 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday night: A slight chance of rain before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers after 11pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

MLK Day: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47.

Monday night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
