Diners are being offered Christmas dinner with a meat-free twist at a festive vegan pop-up barbecue in Glasgow's newest revamped bar.

The Mad Chef, of Bloc fame - a.k.a. Danny McLaren - has done it again with his unique take on a Christmas feast.

The latest in his Durty Vegan Burger Club events will take place on December 18 in the winter garden of Cùl Cùil - a cosy bar that recently opened in Glasgow city centre.

Cùl Cùil

Described as a "Christmas Winter BBQ", it will be the last event the club will hold this year.

Diners can enjoy an epic vegan spread, lovingly prepared by The Mad Chef himself, beginning with sticky seitan barbecue ribs - handmade seitan replica ribs with a sticky barbecue sauce.

It will be followed by a banana blossom burger - a take on vegan pulled pork including buffalo barbecued banana blossom, vegan blue cheese, shredded slaw & burger pickles, all served in a seeded vegan brioche replica bun - alongside crispy coated french fries, loaded with burger sauce pickles and chives.

It can all be washed down with The Mad Chef's speciality Buckfast mulled wine, for a taste of Christmas with a classic Glasgow edge.

The Facebook event page reads: "Say goodbye to turkey, hello seitan ribs and vegan Xmas dinner, things will never be the same again.

"Come join us for the last Durty vegan burger club event of 2018, hosted in the magical winter garden of future hero venue Cùl Cùil, a stalwart in local community exploits and Glasgow based supporter of all things legit."
