Nine Bahrain rioters jailed in stabbing case
Manama : Nine men convicted of stabbing an Asian truck driver have lost their appeal. The defendants were earlier sentenced to five years behind bars.
According to the case, the Bahrainis were allegedly part of around 150 masked protesters, who attacked the Asian man in order to force him to unload the truck’s freight of sand on the road to disrupt the traffic.
He suffered several stab wounds to his left thigh in the attack. The protesters were rioting in the village of Bani Jamra when the Asian man arrived in his truck.
They made him to unload the sand on the road and let him off. The driver then approached the closest security checkpoint and informed police officers about the incident. The accused were arrested following investigation.
