As a GEICO customer for auto insurance, I turned to them for homeowners insurance as well in 2005. The rate rose every year, until I had to drop coverage last year due to financial hardship. $345.50 per month is the amount that I had to pay. This is robbery, in my opinion.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and frustration with the handling of my homeowners insurance claim by Travelers Insurance. Despite the clear terms of my policy and the extensive documentation provided regarding the damage incurred due to a burst pipe during the winter, Travelers Insurance has consistently failed to honor their obligations and provide timely resolution. Approximately three months ago, my property sustained significant damage as a result of a burst pipe. Understanding the importance of promptly filing a claim, I reached out to Travelers Insurance immediately to initiate the process. However, instead of receiving the support and assistance I expected from my insurance provider during this distressing time, I have been met with obstruction, delay tactics, and an outright refusal to address the damages adequately.

One of the most concerning issues has been Travelers Insurance's persistent demand for multiple bids for repair work, despite the fact that I am well within my rights, as per state law, to select the vendor of my choice. This has needlessly prolonged the claims process, causing further inconvenience and distress. Despite providing a comprehensive bid from a reputable contractor, Travelers Insurance has arbitrarily rejected it, citing reasons that lack transparency and appear to be aimed at minimizing their financial obligation rather than fulfilling their contractual commitments to me, their policyholder.

Furthermore, the lack of communication and transparency throughout this ordeal has been deeply disappointing. Despite numerous attempts to seek clarification and resolution, I have been met with evasive responses and bureaucratic runarounds, leaving me feeling abandoned and unsupported by my insurance provider when I needed them the most. Moreover, I am deeply troubled by the frequent changing of adjusters assigned to my claim and the continual shuffling of my complaint from desk to desk within your organization. This constant turnover not only adds to the confusion and frustration but also serves to further delay the resolution of my claim. It has now been 87 days since the claim was reported, and yet there seems to be no end in sight to this ordeal.

It is imperative that Traveler's Insurance takes immediate action to rectify this situation and honor the terms of my policy. I demand a fair and expeditious resolution to my claim, including the approval of the proposed repair work by the contractor of my choice. Additionally, I expect clear and timely communication regarding the progress of my claim and any further steps required. Failure to address these concerns in a satisfactory manner will leave me with no choice but to explore all available avenues to seek justice, including lodging complaints with relevant regulatory bodies and seeking legal recourse. I trust that Traveler's Insurance will recognize the seriousness of this matter and take the necessary steps to resolve it promptly. I look forward to your prompt response and a swift resolution to this unfortunate situation.

This company must train their employees to cheat paying customers. I had a claim that was approved just to find out after no communication that my claim for stolen property was denied. All kinds of excuses and lack of responsibility. Even though they are cheaper for policies, there is a good reason for that! When it comes time for a claim, they won't pay out. I changed my policy to Safeco immediately. I should have read reviews before going with this company. The poor reviews are accurate. I foresee an eventual lawsuit since so many customers are being cheated.

My experience with Travelers Insurance in handling my homeowner’s claim has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I've been going back and forth with Travelers since last summer with regard to my homeowners claim. Travelers initially approved replacing my roof. They told me to reuse the metals protecting my home from leaks, even though they hadn’t been replaced in over 20 years and are in bad shape.

It's now become crystal clear to me why they didn't initially consider replacing the metal, it's because my home has asbestos on it. I've been in a fight with them for over 6 months regarding the asbestos. Travelers is either claiming the metals can be replaced without damaging the asbestos or they simply don't care if it does. They have employed every possible excuse to minimize their responsibility and financial obligation.

What I once thought was one of the best insurance companies has proven to be just like lesser companies – eager to collect premiums but unwilling to fulfill their obligations when a claim is made. I would advise potential customers to think twice before signing up with Travelers. At this point, I will strongly consider taking my case to the Insurance Commission. It's been over 2 months since I've heard from Travelers when they told me they would give me an update regarding the siding. They're clearly delaying and hoping I will give up and go away. This treatment is ridiculous and unacceptable. 2/5 stars. I gave an extra star only because they partially fulfilled their initial obligation.

Travelers Insurance fails to fulfill their promises to paying customers. Despite making monthly payments, when it comes time to deliver on coverage as outlined in their policies, they consistently fall short. Personally, I experienced damage to my roof and enlisted two independent companies to assess it, both confirming that the damage should be covered under my existing policy. However, Travelers has evaded responsibility for years, giving me the runaround instead of providing the assistance owed to me.

I had a kitchen fire after using my self cleaning oven in 11/2019. Travelers was great in giving me a new kitchen and cleaning my house. Now, 3 yrs later they have dropped me after 40 yrs of loyalty. I also bundled my car Ins. And paid the bill in full and was never late. There is absolutely no loyalty in keeping with a co. They are also expensive. You can do better elsewhere. Although all ins. companies have become greedy pigs.

My apartment flooded due to no fault of my own. Travelers' remote adjusters not anywhere near Dallas handled my claim via phone zoom. Adjusters work 2 days a week and reinterpret your full value replacement coverage as age discounted value. That's right and to top it off ignore calls, emails, voicemails. Bullying by adjuster trying to trigger a racial battle was the tipping point. The Area Director responded there will be retraining for the adjusters. A year later I look at my permanently damaged possessions and ask myself why didn’t I fight harder for myself? Abusive, lazy, deviate people are employed at Travelers and that is why I caved. Stay away from Travelers Insurance.

When I tell you these folks are rude! You are interrogated, you have to make your own phone calls, and emails to get any sort of response. Go ahead ask to speak to a supervisor. She is even better! Not!!! As rude and sarcastic. Travelers do better! Train better!! My husband has a small accent and the supervisor told him “I did not understand a word you just said” her name is Juliana **. I am in complete shock over her poor behavior! Please do better Travelers. Reading the reviews I’m certainly not the only one.

This is the worst insurance company I've ever had to deal with. They are looking for any excuse to cancel one's policy if you live in NJ. The company they sub-contract to do their inspections (Millennium Information Services, Inc.) is just as shady. Cancelling a policy due to algae on vinyl siding - really!!! Folks, please stay away from this company.

I filed a claim in September 2023. They approved the claim though they made some weird argument that they shouldn't be responsible for paying for the plumbing repair. I was fine to just move forward and limit my overall cost but that's where the nightmare started. Weeks upon weeks passed with no communication between the assigned rep and me. They changed the claim rep not once but twice. I sent weekly emails to them and the supervisors and was rarely ever responded to. When the claim was finally paid out in December the amount they paid me was more than ten thousand dollars below the invoices I'd received.

I've been trying to get the restoration company and them to agree on the charges for months again with almost no response from Travelers. While this has happened I've been unable to acquire insurance for another property given having an open claim. Just recently the restoration company has put a lien against my home to try and collect the debt they're owed. The insurance company has gone so far as to say that this is a normal experience with Travelers where they routinely deny and negotiate claims to delay when they have to pay out.

I would caution anyone else against buying Travelers. I had a different claim through Grange Insurance that took a month to fully settle while this is going on 4 months and they paid everything out fully including paying for an entire new roof when they were quoted for half or a full. Grange was also charging me less on their monthly premium.
