Governor Larry Hogan tweeted, "While a number of states continue to see alarming #COVID19 spikes and outbreaks, the encouraging trends in Maryland's key metrics are holding steady."
Maryland has opened free testing sites across the state, urging people to learn their status.
At CVS testing locations, the pharmacy said results could take up to seven days to process because of a lab backlog.
While Maryland has not seen outbreaks surge like they have the South and West, the resort community of Ocean City has seen several restaurants close or restrict indoor dining either as a precaution or because staff tested positive.
Health officials urged people to continue to wear masks in public. President Trump wore a mask during an appearance in Maryland over the weekend.
His administration is now pushing for schools to reopen in the fall. Governor Hogan said Maryland is working on a plan that would combine classroom and virtual instruction—but nothing is final yet.
The CEO of Baltimore City schools recently said there would be a plan for all-virtual instruction for those parents who do not feel comfortable sending their children back into the classroom.
