Beginning next week residents in several parishes in Acadiana will have more local options for COVID-19 testing.

ACADIA PARISH

EVANGELINE PARISH

In partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health/Office of Public Health and local governments, the Louisiana National Guard will be operating mobile COVID-19 testing sites.

  • Testing is for open for any Louisiana Resident sixteen (16) years of age and older with valid Louisiana identification.
  • There is no cost for the testing. And, no symptom screening required.
  • The testing site will be conducted as a drive-thru test site. Walk-up testing is not preferred due to safety concerns, but they will not be turned away.
  • Once on site, those being tested will need to wear a mask and stay in their cars for verification of eligibility criteria, ID check and self-administered testing.
  • The site will use a self-administered nasal swab test that will allow those being tested to swab their own nose onsite while in their vehicles, observed by a trained medical volunteer to ensure the sample is taken correctly.
  • Once results are received, the local Office of Public will contact those who were tested to communicate their results and share any necessary information.

ST. MARTIN PARISH

Lafayette General Health has expanded its community COVID-19 testing efforts to St. Martin Parish. Testing is open to Louisiana residents of all ages who wish to know if they have the novel coronavirus. Testing is available to anyone, even those who may be asymptomatic. Members of the community should bring a valid ID and insurance card, if applicable. There are no out-of pocket costs for those seeking a test and no one will be turned away based on their insurance status. Testing will be conducted in a drive-thru setting and everyone should remain in the vehicle at all times. There should be no more than four people per vehicle. Community members will receive their test results within 24-72 hours via the MyHealth patient portal. Those with a positive result will also be contacted by phone. Testing is available at the dates, times and locations listed below. Testing times are subject to change due to volume. For the safety of our healthcare workers, testing could be canceled due to weather conditions.
