Estella Ruth (Truax) Keefer, 88, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away at her home on July 28, 2020.

Born September 7, 1931, in Needmore, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Bradie and Lenore (O’Rourke) Truax.

She is survived by two sons, Allen Leon Keefer of Berkeley Springs and Daryl Franklin Keefer of Hancock, Md.; a daughter, Wanda Lee (Keefer) Smith Houser Eichelberger and her husband, Lloyd Jacob Eichelberger, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three sisters, June Elaine (Truax) Percy of Berkeley Springs, Vallie Kathleen (Truax) Schetrompf of Hancock, and Linda Eileen (Truax) Ray and her husband, Enos Hagar Ray, of Hancock; two brothers, Lyle Frances Truax and his wife, Linda Diane (Corry) Truax, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Gene O’Rourke Truax of Hancock; four granddaughters, Heidi Michelle (Hiles) Schoentube of Easton, Pa., Stacy Marie Smith of Hagerstown, Md., Samantha Jo Keefer of Great Cacapon, W.Va., and Casandra Lyn Keefer of Milford, Del.; and three grandsons, Dustin Allen Keefer of Dallas, Texas, Eric Joseph Smith of Fort Loudon, Pa., and Anthony Theodore Wills of Milford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, William Franklin Keefer; her companion, Bernell Phillip Knepp; a son, Randy Eugene Keefer; a sister, Lorraine Lenore (Truax) Schetrompf Adams; and three brothers, Lloyd Bradie Truax Sr., Ray Mathew Truax and Virgil Wallace Truax.

She attended school in Warfordsburg, Pa.

She was a lifetime member of the Blue Denim Boot Kickers, and a member of the Berkeley Springs Chapter 1311 Women of the Moose.

She was a fan of all types and genres of music and could barely sit still if music was playing. In her younger days, she loved to line dance and, even when she could no longer walk, she attended most all of the classes offered by the Boot Kicker organization.

Anyone who met her in her latter days knew she worked at the Park-N-Dine in Hancock, and that she drove a taxi for Keefer Taxi Service in McConnellsburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, from 6 until 8 p.m., where her funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at noon. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Rehobeth United Methodist Cemetery, Tollgate Ridge Road, Mercersburg, Pa. Enos Hagar Ray will officiate.

In adherence to COVID-19 regulations, masks must be worn while in attendance at the viewing and services.

Arrangements were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.
