Want to save money? Buy these things in the month of January

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The new year means a fresh start, and there’s nothing better than saving money on your favorite things, without racking up debt.

If losing weight or getting healthy is a resolution for you this year, we have some good news. Some of the best deals at local and major retailers right now are on exercise equipment.

You can save hundreds of dollars on treadmills, ellipticals and indoor bikes as retailers are trying to take advantage of everyone looking to get healthy in the new year.

Gym memberships are also discounted right now. The YMCA of Greater Louisville is waiving it’s joining fee, valued at up to $80, through Jan. 31.

Winter clothing and cold weather sports gear are also on sale, as stores try and clear out for spring inventory.

It’s also a tradition to see major discounts on bedding in January, known as the “white sale.”

We are weeks away from Super Bowl Sunday, and if you’re itching to watch the big game on a huge HD television, you’re in luck, as TV’s are discounted nationwide, in January.
