Life story of woman kidnapped at birth, raised in SC premieres nationwide

WALTERBORO, S.C. — Kamiyah Mobley was kidnapped from a Florida hospital 21 years ago as a newborn and then raised by a stranger in South Carolina.

Three years ago, she was found in Walterboro, South Carolina after investigators continued to look for her.

Now, her life story will be told nationwide Saturday in a documentary-style movie on the Lifetime television network, WCIV reported.

ABC’s Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts also sat down with Mobley and her family and friends in a one-on-one interview.

“OK, now I’ve got to figure out a way to provide. Emotionally it’s been a little roller coaster," said Mobley.

She said she didn’t know how big her case was or the impact it would have on the country.

“I didn’t know that it was out on the news because I didn’t watch the news, you know what I’m saying? It was me, everywhere,” she said.

Mobley said she decided to move back to Jacksonville, Florida to be with her real family.

The woman who took Kamiya and raised her, Gloria Williams, is now serving 18 years in prison for the crime.
