Here is a look at Week 4 West Alabama high school football action:

Bessemer Academy 40,

Tuscaloosa Academy 27

Tuscaloosa Academy wide receiver Luke Kilgore caught three touchdown passes, including one for 65 yards. Quarterback Whitt Winfield threw four touchdown passes in Thursday's home loss.

Gordo 27,

Northside 13

The Gordo offense broke free in the second half after being dominated in time of possession through the first two quarters on Thursday. Junior quarterback Tanner Bailey led the way for the Green Wave (4-0) , throwing for 190 yards on 13 of 17 passing and three touchdowns. Ben Capps scored on a reception and a run. 

Fayette County 36,

Curry 22

Fayette County’s Zac Jackson rushed for 141 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns in the victory for the Tigers (1-2). Tim Walker had four receptions for 124 yards. Quarterback Blake Johnson completed 5 of 6 passes, with one interception, for 87 yards.

Cornerstone Christian 56,

Tuscaloosa Christian 42

Nathan Johns had three touchdowns on eight receptions for 126 yards for Tuscaloosa Christian (1-1). Luke Jones had 12 carries for 216 yards and one touchdown. Logan Minor completed 16 of 34 of passes with one interception. Minor threw for three touchdowns and 192 yards. Jake Arsenault had one interception.  

Aliceville 34,

Sulligent 20

Tyjarian Williams had three touchdown passes, completing 11 of 19 passes for 213 yards with one interception in the win for Aliceville (2-1). Jamarree Linder had one touchdown reception, catching five passes for a total of 110 yards. Jermaine Brewer rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries. 

West Blocton 54,

Holt 30

Hunter Brand, Austin Battles and Jackson Champion each scored twice in the win for West Blocton (3-1). Brand finished with 138 yards rushing. Battles had two receptions for a total of 73 yards. Champion completed two of three passes for two touchdowns and 73 yards. Holt’s Jordan Driver had two touchdown receptions. Ziar Hutton completed 8 of 16 passes for 210 yards and threw for one touchdown.

North River Christian Academy  42,

Evangel Christian 36

North River Christian Academy (1-2) got its first win of the season in a game highlighted by LaKweili Rice’s 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a touchdown reception. Chase Clark had  three touchdowns, including a 67-yard run for a score. Clark finished with 182 yards. 

McAdory 18,

Paul W. Bryant 8

Paul W. Bryant’s lone score came on a 50-yard pass reception by Tobias Burrell. Burrell scored two more points when he ran for a successful PAT.

Northridge 40,

Bessemer City 6

Northridge’s Christopher Jack ran for two touchdowns. Kollyn Shelnut passed for two touchdowns, scoring London Merrieweather and Cory White in the win.
