Musical event held to pay tribute to police martyrs

The Delhi Police on Monday organised 'Ek Shaam Shahdat Ko Salaam', a musical event at Siri Fort Auditorium in New Delhi. The event was marked as a tribute to Delhi Police Martyrs, on the occasion of Commemoration Day.

Delhi Commissioner of Police, Amulya Patnaik, presided over the function and senior police officials were also present on the occasion. Family members of the 10 police personnel, who sacrificed their lives last year were also present. Patnaik felicitated them and assured full support from the Police Family.

Speaking on the occasion the CP said that everyday policemen make sacrifices for safety & security of people, and on special occasions they put in extra efforts to keep city safe.

He underlined that the martyrdom of those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty will remain in our memory forever and inspire us.

Famous illusionist Tushar Kumar presented magical tributes through a magic show. Theater group 'Mask Production' also paid tributes through a short play 'Lest We Forget', reflecting gruelling nature of police duties. Acclaimed singer Shankar Sahni rendered patriotic songs on the occasion. A short film on the martyrs was also shown.
