There is a new — but familiar — face in the offices of the very busy F.E.E.D. TX Restaurant Group.

Jim Mills, former general manager of the Houstonian Hotel, is the company’s new vice president of operations, a newly-minted role for F.E.E.D. TX, which includes the Liberty Kitchens, BRC Gastropub and Petite Sweets.

The Houston-based restaurant group is growing and soon will include Lee’s Fried Chicken & Donuts, Little Liberty in the Village and Liberty Kitchens in both Garden Oaks and Memorial Villages.

“As we take the company to the next phase, Jim brings a wealth of knowledge to the table while offering a forward-thinking approach,” F.E.E.D. TX partner Lee Ellis said in a release. “The combination of Mills’ passion for operational excellence, enthusiasm for restaurants and his seasoned background will help us succeed.”

Mills will be responsible for daily operations at all restaurant locations, including the Liberty Kitchen in Austin.

Mills worked at the Houstonian for nearly 20 years. He first started at the posh hotel as executive chef and stepped up into the role of general manager. He also spent time in Dallas in the kitchens of the Mansion on Turtle Creek and Hotel Crescent Court.

“I am so excited about reuniting with my chef mentor from my years at the Houstonian, who has been like a second father to me all these years,” F.E.E.D. TX culinary director/partner Lance Fegen said in a statement. “It’s simply an honor to have him join us, and we expect to create a synergy that shows no limits.”
