Kathy Steinbrueck stands among the planters she arranged for the village of Saranac Lake at Scott’s Florist. Four planters were placed around town on Thursday for the first Art Walk. The rest of the 50-or-so planters will be placed around town this week. Steinbrueck planted them all on last Wednesday. This year, the planters have a mix of marigolds, supertunias, sanvitalias and licorice plants. Planters will also have a centerpiece of either salvia, a tall purple plant which attracts butterflies, bees and hummingbirds, or canna, which will bloom into a vibrant orange flower.
