The restaurant inside the brand new Palihotel Culver City is now open, following a series of small delays dating to late last year. It’s called Simonette, is located in a refurbished 1920s-era building just off downtown Culver City proper, and focuses on French-inflected fare.

The new Simonette occupies space in the hotel’s lobby and interior courtyard, drawing inspiration from Paris’ famed bistros. The all-day menu from group chef Joey Elenterio touches on classic French fare like mussels with fries, steak frites, and a nicoise salad. There’s also a late-night menu for those visiting the craft cocktail bar on the hotel’s lower level. It includes booze-friendly bites like a build-your-own poutine and a breakfast sandwich.

Culver City has seen an influx of new and notable restaurant talent in the past calendar year or so, though mostly east of downtown at The Platform. Places like like Roberta’s, Hayden, and Margot are all now operating smoothly, while downtown Culver has the newer Ms. Chi Cafe.
