All passes for The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival’s 21st year appeared to have sold out as of Tuesday, Jan. 7, and fans on the internet lamented their missed chance to see a list of artists that included Rage Against The Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.

I was gonna buy my weekend 2 ticket to Coachella today but…. SOLD OUT 💔
— LISS 🦋 (@eyesofalissa) January 7, 2020
The now sold out weekend two passes (weekend one had already sold out well ahead of time) went on sale Monday, Jan. 6, and fans spent much of the afternoon and early evening on that day clamoring for their chance at passes.
They sat at their computer or watched their phone screen and hoped the infamous little blue man on the loading screen would get them in for their shot at a purchase.
Weekend two general admission passes by themselves sold out in less than an hour during a presale for fans who registered on Coachella’s website ahead of time. The presale began at noon.
A sale for the rest of the public began at 3 p.m. Monday and it was during that time that the festival confirmed that only very limited quantities of general admission pass and shuttle combos ($504) and VIP passes ($999) were still on sale via its website.

Before the passes were ready to go on sale at noon Monday, the anxiety was real and people were already hoping for some good luck.

Fans were also planning on what their reaction would be if they did or didn’t get passes.

At Southern California News Group, we conducted our own spot check and it took approximately 55 minutes for the blue man to take us to the loading page to purchase the tickets. Fans noted similar wait times.
