BAHRAIN Olympic Committee (BOC) celebrated the 15th Anniversary of National Action Charter (NAC) on Saturday.
It was organised in cooperation with Gulf University as part of the committee’s plan to promote community partnership with various national organisations and institutions.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and BOC member and Bahrain Table Tennis Association president Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa patronised the day-long celebrations held under the theme “Our charter… is our future”.
The event was split into two sessions, with an open walkathon kicking off the morning activities at Isa Town Sports City in Riffa.
Gulf University hosted the remaining events - football, athletics, badminton, table tennis, short-distance running and physical fitness in Sanad.
The closing session of the festival took place at Gulf University where Shaikha Hayat made the opening remarks. It was followed by a short film prepared by Gulf University on the event.
Gulf University acting president Dr Muhanned Al Mashhadani spoke on the achievements of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the King.

Shaikha Hayat, BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar and Gulf University president Dr Mona Al Zayani honoured members of the national handball team on reaching the 2017 World Championship in France. The winners of the competitions were also awarded.
A special exhibition was staged at the venue to promote this year’s Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sports.
A number of ministries and organisations from the private sector, including the Information Affairs Ministry and Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), were also involved in the exhibition.
