Bahrain showcases ICT sector at Gitex Dubai

Bahrain's national pavilion ended its participation at the Gitex 2015 in Dubai, UAE by emphasising on its commitment to strengthen the presence of the the kingdom's ICT sector in this Global Technical Forum year after year.
 
The organisers of the pavilion assured that support by the Bahrain’s labour fund Tamkeen to the participating Bahraini companies played a big role in raising the share of the Bahraini private sector in the local and regional information technology market, which reaches a total of more than $53 billion. 
 
At the end of the event, organisers announced preparatory work for Bahrain’s national pavilion for Gitex 2016.
 
A total of 24 Bahraini technology companies took part in the pavilion this year offering a first-time services and products in Gitex. 
 
These companies succeeded in signing of a total of 15 co-operation agreements with their counterparts of major regional and international IT companies. 
 
During their participation in the pavilion, the Economic Development Board (EDB) highlighted economic and investment advantages investors can get in Bahrain, while the participation of the e-Government Authority contributed in defining of the extent development of electronic services and technical applications in the kingdom.
 
A total of 12 delegations visited the pavilion during the five days of the event representing countries such as Morocco, Jordan, and Nigeria. 
 
The Bahraini pavilion organised visits to many pavilions aiming to highlight mutual advantages of the IT sector in each country and discuss the possibilities of having productive partnerships and joint ventures work.
 
Organisers of the pavilion for the ninth consecutive year are the Bahrain Technology Companies Society (Btech) and Work Smart, the renowned event-management company. At the end of the event, both organisers announced preparatory work for Bahrain’s national pavilion for Gitex 2016.
 
Obaidly Al-Obaidly, presidnet of Btech, said, Bahrain this year succeeded in enhancing its qualitative presence in this global technical event taking advantage of its successful record over the past nine years.
 
“Every year and in line with BTECH goals, we have provided the Bahraini ICT companies the opportunity to meet with the regional experts of communications and IT industry to identify the market trends on the one hand and to meet distributers on the other hand,” he said.
 
For his part, Work Smart board of directors’ chairman Ahmed Al-Hujairi said: “Despite challenges we faced this year, we were able to prove our presence by presenting Bahrain through 24 ICT companies along with the (EDB) and the e-government authority Gitex, which is the third largest gathering of its kind in the world.” - TradeArabia News Service
