Nueces County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 49% of people fully vaccinated

Nueces County has administered more than 369,524 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of Sept. 21, according to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

That's up 2.08% from the previous week's tally of 361,990 COVID-19 doses administered.

In Nueces County, 49% of people living in Nueces County are fully vaccinated as of Sept. 21. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Texas reported 3,967,426 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 2% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Texas as of Sept. 21 are Presidio County (74%), Hudspeth County (70%), Webb County (69%), Starr County (67%) and Fort Bend County (67%).
