Original story

Both eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 in Greenfield closed for a second time Saturday due to emergency road work.

The closure was set to begin at 4 p.m. and spanned from Ind. 9 to Ind. 109 for an "extended period," according to Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine.

The interstate remained closed at 9 p.m. Saturday. INDOT said the left lane should reopen about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

The same area closed for two hours late Saturday morning and reopened just before 1 p.m.

The Indiana Department of Transportation is urging drivers to plan extra time for travel and to use alternate routes. Drivers can use U.S. 40 to get around the closure.
