NSP: Troopers arrest California man, seize cocaine and marijuana in traffic stop
Nebraska State Patrol troopers have arrested a California man after cocaine and marijuana were discovered during a traffic stop.
In a news release, the NSP stated that a trooper spotted a Nissan Rogue speeding as it was heading east on Interstate 80 Sunday around 7 a.m.
According to the release, the trooper then noticed indicators of criminal activity during the stop.
Authorities said that a search of the vehicle resulted in a trooper finding 2.2 pounds of cocaine hidden under the car's spare tire and 1.5 pounds of marijuana in a box filled with spray foam.
The driver was identified as Arnold Rodriguez, 44, of Modesto, California.
According to the NSP, Rodriguez was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana - more than one pound, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and no drug tax stamp.
