Closed from Mitchell to Sioux Falls on Thursday, Interstate 90 is open again as of Saturday afternoon.

South Dakota Department of Transportation officials says I-90 is fully opened through southeast South Dakota, but there are reduced speeds and lane closures along some sections of the interstate.

There is still standing water over I-90 east of the Bridgewater exit, so both west and eastbound traffic are reduced to one lanes. I-90 westbound will be reduced to one lane at the bridge just east of Exit 374, according to a news release.

Flood waters run over Interstate 90, two miles west of Mt. Vernon on Thursday, Sept. 12.

"Water is receding and crews are monitoring roadways for and bridge structures for safety," the SDDOT said in a statement.
