TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Two persons of interest in connection with a fatal shooting in Carlisle last week were arrested Saturday morning after police executed a search warrant on a Terre Haute home.

Matthew Earle, 23, of Terre Haute, and Kyle Johnson, 20, of Coal City, Ind., were taken into custody early Saturday after being discovered by police inside a residence on 12th Street, Indiana State Police Sgt. Matt Ames said in a news release. Both men are being held at Sullivan County Jail and are now facing multiple felony charges.

The ISP Putnamville district thanked the public at large in the release for helping to identify these men. Ames also said Terre Haute PD’s SWAT team assisted in the arrests.

Earle and Johnson both now face charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony, and obstruction of justice, a level 6 felony. Ames said this investigation is still active and ongoing.
