• Dr. Pimple Popper extracts a group of solar comedones all around a man's eye in her latest Youtube video.
  • Solar comedones are blackheads and whiteheads that develop after chronic sun exposure.
  • Solar comedones can be difficult to extract and require numbing and a dermatologist's care.

If you've been tempted to linger in the sun this summer, Dr. Pimple Popper has a stern warning in the form of a new Youtube video to remind everyone to wear sunscreen. In case the risk of burns and developing skin cancer isn't enough to convince you to slather on the SPF, the sun could also cause you to develop solar comedones—a.k.a. oversized dark blackheads and white heads near your eyes. Yikes!

Dr. Pimple Popper is serious about proper sun care and clearing out these blackheads and whiteheads all around her patient's eyes. The video is a whopping 6 minutes long, so grab the popcorn folks and settle in for an extended popping extravaganza.

The video begins with an overview of the bumps Dr. Pimple Popper will treat. There are the solar comedones aplenty, but her patient also has a few small skin tags on his eyelid and a benign hidrocystoma. Phew, there is a lot going on here.

The doctor starts with the title character: solar comedones. To get these bad boys out, she has to prick each one with her scalpel. Then, she goes back with her comedone extractor and goes to town. She tells her patient to speak up if he ever needs a break.

Btw: Solar comedones are blackheads and whiteheads, that occur because of chronic sun exposure. Dr. Pimple Popper says solar comedones generally pop up around the eyes, and they're also known as Favre-Racouchot syndrome. While Favre-Racouchot is more common in middle-aged white men, the condition does occur in about 10 percent of Americans so any sun worshippers are at risk, according to the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology (AOCD).

For all the blackhead fans out there, this was one satisfying pop extravaganza. Dr. Pimple Popper popped, squeezed, and snipped until every bump was obliterated.
