Albert F. Orthaus, 87, of Orthaus Road, Hereford, died Oct. 4 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Salisbury Township. He was married to Doris J. (McMichael) Orthaus for 65 years last November.

A member of the Plumber’s Association, he was owner of Albert F. Orthaus Plumbing & Heating, Hereford, for the past 54 years. Previously, he was a purchasing agent for Standard Press Steel, Glenside, Montgomery County.

Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Guenther & Marion (Clarke) Orthaus and a stepson of the late Rose (Holzworth) Orthaus.

He was a former member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church, Palm.

He was a past president of the Hereford and Upper Perkiomen school boards. An officer of the Al-Joe Breakfast Club, Palm, he was a former member of the Upper Perkiomen Rotary Club, East Greenville.

Survivors:Wife; daughters, Dorothy Moyer of Stowe, Allegheny County, Lyn Lamison of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; son, Bud of Bechtelsville; sisters, Marion LoRusso of Chalfont, Bucks County, Mary Pohl of Landenburg, Chester County; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, William, and a daughter, Terry.
