New Mexico State Police are investigating a shooting that left a suspect injured.According to a tweet from NMSP, the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office was involved in a shooting off HWY 14 and Avenida Del Sur in Santa Fe County. Officials say the deputies were not injured. They responded to a call Thursday afternoon about a person who entered the Allsup's convenience store on HWY 14 and looked intoxicated. The person fired a gun outside of the store, according to a release and for two hours deputies and SWAT members attempted to negotiate with the suspect but gun fire was eventually exchanged. The suspect was taken to a hospital in Santa Fe and is reported to be in stable condition. Stay with KOAT for continuing developments.
