An Amish community is western Pennsylvania has been rocked by a tragic but accidental shooting among two young relatives. A 21-year-old man in Smicksburg, Indiana County, was accidentally shot by his 12-year-old cousin around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

An Amish community is western Pennsylvania is being rocked by a tragic but accidental shooting among two young relatives.

WTAE in Pittsburgh is reporting that a 21-year-old man in Smicksburg, Indiana County, was accidentally shot by his 12-year-old cousin around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman Jr. identifies the victim is Allen Troyer, of Smicksburg.

The coroner tells WTAE that the 12-year-old who isn't being identified was holding a black powder revolver when Troyer grabbed the barrel of the gun. That caused it to fire, fatally wounding Troyer in the chest.

Overman has ruled the shooting an accident.

No charges have been filed.
