What items are tax free?

Almost all clothing is eligible for tax exemption over the weekend, as long as each item is less than $100.

Sports jerseys, hiking boots, and costumes are some of the items eligible for the tax exemption.

Items such as jewelry, handbags, cosmetics, and sports equipment do not qualify for tax exemption.

Practically all school supplies are tax exempt as well, with the same $100 cap on each item.

Any qualifying items purchased through the mail, internet, or phone will be exempt from tax if the items are delivered to Mississippi.
