Companies Hiring In Bel Air Amid Coronavirus

BEL AIR, MD — The new coronavirus has hit Maryland workers. Some companies are making layoffs, and nonessential businesses were ordered to close Monday to prevent the spread of the virus. Other companies, however, are hiring due to the increased demands from the pandemic.

Spikes in grocery, shopping and delivery have increased the demand for workers. Stores across the state have been besieged as residents have stocked up and left shelves barren of necessities including toilet paper and cleaning supplies. To ensure their stores are stocked and staffed, companies around the region are hiring. In some cases, they are also offering raises during the time of the new coronavirus.

These companies are hiring in the area:

7-Eleven is hiring 20,000 new store employees "to meet increased demand for its products and services amid the coronavirus pandemic," including to keep stores sanitized, the company said in a statement. "These roles will also will help meet a surge in mobile orders through our 7NOW app, which delivers more than 3,000 items including food, snacks, grocery, household and health needs in about 30 minutes in approximately 400 cities." Aldi is looking for store associates, stockers, cashiers and seasonal employees at its Bel Air store.

Amazon announced this week it is seeking to hire 100,000 workers across the U.S. to help the company keep up with demand. The online retailer has openings in Edgewood. The company is adding $2 per hour worked through April from its current rate, which is at least $15 an hour.

CVS Health is immediately hiring 50,000 people across the United States for full-time, part-time and temporary jobs, including store and pharmacy positions. See the jobs available in Bel Air.
