GRAFTON: After a two-year absence, the Grafton Lions Club has announced the return of the annual Independence Day Concert on the Common. The concert takes place at 7:30 p.m. on July 3. It will be the 40th annual concert and we will be featuring the 215th Army Band, which has performed many times at this concert.

At 10 a.m. on July 4, a parade will step off from the North Street Elementary School to Oak Street. Organizers are looking for people to participate. They're accepting floats, sports, classic or unique cars and motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians in costumes. Donations of bottled water, hard candy, streamers and decorations for bicycles and mini-flags will be accepted. To volunteer, donate or for more information, email grafton4thofjulyparade@gmail.com.

CONCORD: The annual Picnic in the Park takes place from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 4 at Emerson Playground. The day will include the RE/MAX balloon from 10 a.m. to noon (wind permitting); field games, music and more. Information: https://www.facebook.com/PicnicintheParkConcordMa/

LINCOLN: The annual Independence Day celebrations will include the Firecracker Road Race, the kids bicycle parade, parade and barbecue. Due to a school construction project, there will be no fireworks this year. Information: https://www.lincolntown.org/1267/July-4

NEWTON: The annual Independence Day festivities on July 4 will begin at the Newton Centre "bowl" off Tyler Terrace adjacent to the playground. Kids Morning will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. No rain date.

Afternoon and evening activities from 10 a.m. to dark at Albemarle Field/Halloran Field will include a carnival (kiddie rides, games, food) at 10 a.m.; Open Air Market with handmade and international crafts at 1 p.m.; food vendors and live music at the gazebo starting at noon; East Coast Soul in concert at 6:30 p.m.; and fireworks at dusk. SUDBURY: The parade will start at 1 p.m. on July 4. Like in years past, the parade will line up in Chiswick Park. This year’s theme, "Sudbury Salutes HEROES, HELPERS and ESSENTIAL WORKERS," is in honor of and to thank all the workers whose service(s) were fundamental to maintaining the well being of our community.
