Fourth Quarter

Two offensive linemen, Shanahan and Hines, couldn't handle the one defensive tackle, leading to the third sack of the day . For a unit that has struggled all season, this performance might be the peak of its downfall. 

Flott hit with questionable pass interference call. A&M driving for the first time in the fourth quarter. 

Aggies 2-of-15 on third down and LSU still trailing 20-0. This offensive performance rivals what happened against Alabama two years ago. Just utter domination. 

Arik Gilbert drops a first down pass and the Tigers suffer to 1-for-14 on third down.

Third Quarter

Half: Texas A&M 13, LSU 0

Overall strong first half for this LSU defense to only surrender 13 points, especially with six three-and-outs from the LSU offense.  Tigers d on the field for 18:31 in that first half.

LSU gets the ball to start the third quarter.

Pair of Tyrion Davis-Price carries goes absolutely nowhere as the Tigers now face a third-and-9 situation. Free runner gets after Finley on third down incompletion. LSU offense goes three-and-out

Cordale Flott is all over the field tonight. Likely his best game this season and a great tackle for loss just now . Tigers defense doing their part tonight as Kellen Mond and Texas A&M go three-and-out.

Finley to Jaray Jenkins for 26 yards gives the offense a little bit of life. Drive goes nowhere again as Finley can't connect with Terrace Marshall down the field . Tigers 1-of-11 on third downs.

Ali Gaye TFL brings LSU to 2nd-and-32. The run defense has been pretty consistent tonight and it is pouring in College Station

Ugly ugly game. Ball hits an Dwight McGlothern and recovered by Texas A&M. Brutal turn of events for the Tigers.

Kellen Mond sacked and fumbled the ball on third down. Aggies pick the ball up and run for a first down with the offensive lineman. Play being reviewed but Aggies are getting some help from the football gods tonight. 

TJ Finley pick six. This game feels all but over as Aggies take a 19-0 lead. A freshman mistake of the worst order.

LSU gets its best run play of the game called back because of a holding call. Offense is in shambles tonight

Austin Deculus blown by on third down and Max Johnson goes running for his life on third down and sacked. 

Second Quarter

LSU's offensive line getting blown up at the line of scrimmage. Back-to-back designed runs for Johnson go nowhere. Tigers have to call timeout with play clock running low.  

Four straight three-and-outs for LSU offense. Tigers and Aggies have combined to go 0-for-9 on third down . 

Another big run for Spiller goes for 32 yards. Jabril Cox this time got caught and not able to make a play . Spiller now up to 92 yards on nine carries. 

Elias Ricks has checked in the game at cornerback for LSU after not playing in the first quarter.

Aggies could be facing a first-and-goal but a 16-yard completion is under review for the spot. Either way, it took all of Elias Ricks' mite to bring down the tight end Wydermeyer right there.

After review, Aggies ruled short, forcing fourth and inches situation. Aggies had converted the first two, third down conversions of the game on this drive before that stop.  

Mond fumbles on the QB sneak and the LSU defense comes up with a huge fourth down stop.

TJ Finley back in the game at quarterback.

There's Terrace Marshall...54-yard catch and run for the junior. Finley fits into a tight window.

My oh my how this game has changed in the last 30 seconds... Finley now hits Kayshon Boutte for a touchdown on the field but the touchdown is being reviewed. Call on the field is ruled incomplete. 2nd-and-10 at the 31 for LSU 

Tipped ball is intercepted and the momentum for LSU has evaporated. Deflating last two plays for the Tigers . That overturned touchdown certainly appears to be a tipping point in this game. 

Micah Baskerville and Ray Thornton laid a couple of haymakers on that drive . Defense gets off the field again.

LSU start in plus Aggie territory after a short punt. Have to come away with points here. 

LSU 12 yards rushing is exactly the opposite of what the offense needed to do. Finley scrambles for nine yards just as I type this, the longest running play of the game.

Tyrion Davis-Price picks up a first down on a two-yard gain, biggest play of the drive.

LSU will be held to a field goal as Finley feels the pressure and delivers inaccurate throw to Arik Gilbert. Cade York shanks it....Tigers remain scoreless. First missed field goal under 40 yards of York's career. That kinda night.

LSU defense gets another stop on third down. This has undoubtedly been the best half of football as a whole this unit has played. Offense needs to give them some help.  

Fifth three-and-out for LSU in this half. Just nothing going for them tonight. 

Lights out play from the secondary in this first half. Now three straight incompletions from Mond sets LSU up with an opportunity to get some points with 1:06 remaining.

Finley and the offense go three-and-out for a sixth time in the first half. Tigers now 1-of-9 on third downs tonight, Aggies are also 1-of-9.

First Quarter

LSU has won the toss and will defer to the second. Kickoff coming momentarily but waiting on the finish of this Northwestern game first.

Jay Ward draws the start opposite Derek Stingley Jr. So that means no Elias Ricks tonight it would appear.

LSU defense forces Texas A&M into a third-and-6 but the Aggies convert, play under further review. Further review and it's short and Tigers force a three-and-out.

Tigers defense forces a three-and-out and gets the ball with great field position. Couldn't have asked for a better start.

Tyrion Davis-Price picks up three on the first play for the LSU offense. Follows that up with a quick pitch and catch to Jaray Jenkins for a first down.

LSU faces its first third-and-long of the night. Pass from Finley completed to Koy Moore and LSU will go for it on fourth down. Short run to Davis-Price comes up short on the aggressive decision from Ed Orgeron and company.

Kellen Mond keeper picks up 26 and JaCoby Stevens late hit tacks on an additional 15 yards. All of the sudden Aggies inside LSU 25-yard line.

A knee down in College Station actually helped LSU. Who woulda thought? Defense holds Aggies to a field goal attempt. 

Scoring Update: Texas A&M 3, LSU 0

TJ Finley making quick reads but two passes are dropped by LSU receivers. Screen pass to Kayshon Boutte goes nowhere and the Tigers must punt. 

Wow. Zach Von Rosenberg just saved a disastrous situation for LSU. Ball nearly went over his head but somehow adjusts and gets his leg on a 36-yard punt.  

LSU's coverage in the secondary has been great this first quarter. More importantly, Texas A&M 0-for-3 on third down. Aggies came in at 62% on third down

Four man rush and the LSU offensive line doesn't pick up the fourth man. Finley nearly is sacked but steps up and completes a short pass, short of the first down marker. 

LSU defense holding its own against the run. Outside of that one big gainer for Mond, just four yards on five carries for Isaiah Spiller.

LSU forces another incompletion on third down. Aggie offense is 0-for-4 on third down. Fantastic start for the defense but the offense needs to get something going here.

Max Johnson in at quarterback for LSU. He's a little more mobile than Finley which could come in handy with a wet ball. 

Tigers go three-and-out for a third straight time as a five-yard completion to Arik Gilbert is one yard short of the first down. 

Explosive play alert. Isaiah Spiller goes 52 yards to the house and the Tigers trail 9-0, pending an extra point .

Missed assignment from from the linebacker (looked like Damone Clark) led to the big hole for the touchdown.

Max Johnson back in and completes a 12-yard pass to Terrace Marshall to close the first quarter.

Pregame

LSU quarterback TJ Finley will earn his first start against a top 25 opponent this evening and will do so with a relatively healthy offense. The only notable absence will be receiver Racey McMath, who Ed Orgeron said would be doubtful throughout the last week.

The Tigers offensive line will need to put together back-to-back solid outings if it hopes to have success on offense, particularly in the run game. The Aggies hold the No. 2 rush defense in the conference so getting John Emery or Tyrion Davis-Price going early is a big key this evening. 

On defense, LSU will have both Elias Ricks and Derek Stingley Jr. back in the rotation after both missed the second half of the Arkansas game. Stopping a potent Aggie running attack, headlined by Isaiah Spiller will be a point of focus for the LSU front seven.

"Adding on quickly to our coverage is something that will stop the running backs from getting out. Just attacking the holes is something that we worked on with these past weeks," linebacker Jabril Cox said. "Not having the o-line get up on us so just hurrying up and adding on to our coverage is something that we've worked on."

LSU visits College Station for the first time since that 2018 seven overtime game two years ago that resulted in a 74-72 win over the Aggies.

Derek Stingley is indeed back out there this weekend as he's returning punts in pregame apparently. Brooks Kubena of The Advocate also reports that Kardell Thomas is dressed out.
