EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility issued a precautionary boil advisory after a water main break Sunday.

We’re told a water main break in a 16″ pipe is causing low water pressure to a large area on the west side around Upper Mt. Vernon Rd.

The area under the boil advisory includes everything in the area north of the Ohio River, south of Mill Road, west of St. Joe Ave and east of the Posey County Line.

The University of Southern Indiana sent out a RAVE alert saying campus and housing areas are affected.

The Evansville Water Utility is advising customers in the affected area to bring all cooking and drinking water to a complete boil for five (5) minutes before using.
