Free weekend? Brokechella, KTown Night Market and brunch with marine mammals
The weekend is almost here, Angelenos. And that means it's time to take advantage of music festivals, art exhibitions, flea markets and more. Couldn't afford Coachella this year? cARTel is throwing Brokechella Saturday. Get your tickets now before heading to the grand opening of the Arts District Flea and KTown Night Market Friday. And then brunch with marine mammals Sunday.
Here's everything you need to know:
For those of you who couldn't make it to Coachella this year, there's an alternative (and inexpensive) music fest right in the heart of DTLA: Brokechella. Veer free from triple digit sandstorm weather in Indio while watching live music from an abundance of emerging bands in L.A. Get pumped beforehand with these tunes, and read more on the lineup here. Pro tip: Puppychella is not a myth. Brokechella will be dog-friendly in designated areas from 3 to 7 p.m. Sign up your pup here.

2. ARTS DISTRICT FLEA GRAND OPENING
Don't miss the grand opening of the Arts District Flea in downtown L.A. Enjoy a selection of handcrafted goods, jewelry, eye-popping art and furniture in a creative space. Put on your shopping face and pace yourself for a day of flea market madness.

Get your grub on at KTown Night Market — a celebration mirrored after Asia's vibrant night markets and delicious food. Choose from nearly 40 different food vendors and 11 food trucks selling delicious Korean cuisine. Stay for live entertainment, music and art installations during this two-day street food festival.

4. FUTBOL: THE BEAUTIFUL GAME AT LACMA

Immerse yourself in colorful portraits and vibrant images of sports icons from around the world during LACMA's exclusive exhibit, "Fútbol: The Beautiful Game." The exhibit features 30 talented photographers, videographers, painters and more. Be sure to check out two great installations: "Zidane: A 21st Portrait" and "Volta" by Stephen Dean.
When: Ongoing exhibition until July 20, 2014; check museum hours.

5. EASTER BREAKFAST AT THE AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC

Enjoy a delicious Easter breakfast while gazing at adorable marine mammals, critters and jellyfish at the Aquarium of the Pacific this weekend. On the menu: Fluffy scrambled eggs, cheese frittata and an assortment of delicious pastries and coffee to keep you going. Pro tip: You'll get a $5 certificate good for the Pacific Collections gift store.

From current to classic, peruse tons of cool cars on display at the Balboa Peninsula before a day of lounging at Newport Beach. This weekly event features cars from locals (so bring yours if you want to show off!) with prizes for "Best in Show."

7. THE ACRO CATS — THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!
This Chicago-based show is pouncing on over to Santa Monica to entertain you crazy cat ladies and gents. The Amazing Acro Cats troupe consists of over a dozen former orphan, rescue and stray cats, who ride skateboards, ring bells, roll barrels, walk the high wire and climb ropes. There's even a cat band — the only cat band in the entire world. Pro tip: Can't make it out this weekend? The traveling felines will be in Hollywood next week.
