Hector Mendoza, age 75, passed away October 19, 2021, in Prince William Medical Center after a long series of debilitating medical problems. He was born September 2, 1946, the only son of predeceased Cuban immigrants, Carlos Mendoza and Aida (Pernas) Mendoza.

He is survived by his loving sister, Eida (née Mendoza) De Gennaro, of Centreville, VA, and three daughters, Amy Mendoza Toth and her two children of Aldie, VA, Elaine Mendoza Stripling (Jason) of Aldie, VA, and their three children, Audrie Mendoza Kretzing (James) of Aldie, VA, and their five children. He is also survived by his niece, Aida Marie Spalding (Buzz Haley) of Lorton, VA and by his nephew, Carl De Gennaro of Centreville, VA; and by ten grandchildren, Audrie, Sophia, Evan, Linnea, Emery, Marlie, Dominic, Pierson, Emmett, and Kylie and two grand nephews, Dillon and Brock.

Hector and his sister, Eida, were born in Havana, Cuba. In 1961 Hector and Eida emigrated to the United States. Hector was a graduate of Bishop Moore High School in Omaha, NE. He went on to complete undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska — Omaha in Engineering. He was an engineer for Bechtel Corporation in Florida and Maryland for over a decade specializing in nuclear facility cost analysis. He later became a real estate broker in Virginia where he conducted a family business, Dreamscape.

Hector was a devout parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Aldie, VA, and previously St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burke, VA.

Considering the present environment, the family has decided to have a family Memorial Mass later this year at Corpus Christi Church, Aldie, VA and a private burial ceremony.
