36-year-old man from Milwaukee killed, two injured in shooting on West Burleigh Street

One person was killed and two others were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting in Milwaukee's Sherman Park neighborhood.

Milwaukee police responded to the shooting about 12:50 a.m. in the 4200 block of West Burleigh Street, the department said in a news release.

A 36-year-old man from Milwaukee was killed. A 31-year-old man from Milwaukee and a 40-year-old man from Waukesha were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The circumstances that led to the shooting are under investigation, police said. They asked anyone with information to call them at 414-935-7360 or Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS.

On Friday Milwaukee saw four homicides. Three occurred within an hour.
