Stop buying Trump's sizzle and ask 'where's the steak?': Letter

Asbury Park Press

President Trump proved again how little he cares about those who served and died for our freedom. It is well documented that he and his father did everything they could to keep him out of the military, starting with the five deferments. When the deferments ran out his father got a doctor to write a letter he had bone spurs.

No one in Trump's family, past or present, served in the military. At the 100th anniversary of World War I ceremonies, Trump did not bother to visit the cemetery where thousands of Americans died in one of the costliest battles in U.S. history, blaming the rain, even though all the other world leaders attended. When Trump returned to the U.S., he did not attend one ceremony on Veterans Day and elected to stay in the White House.

It is beyond me that Trump still has the support of veterans. When I was in sales. a common mantra was "Sell the sizzle, not the steak." Trump honed those skills in the real estate business and it has worked for him in politics.

President Trump comforts Vietnam veteran Max Morgan of Santa Clarita, Calif. as he becomes emotional while speaking at a veterans event at the Grand Hyatt, in Danang, Vietnam, Nov. 10, 2017. Trump is on a five country trip through Asia traveling to Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Trump recently stated that President Obama decimated the military. Trump is spending no more on defense than Obama did and plans to cut the budget next year because he is blowing up the national debt.

It has been shown over and over that the only person Trump cares about is Trump.  Stop buying the sizzle and question where is the steak.
