Man, 67, dead in Mountain Home shooting; neighbor in custody, police say

A 67-year-old Mountain Home man is dead and a neighbor is in custody on unspecified charges following a Monday night shooting, Police Chief Carry Manuel stated in a news release.

State police have joined the investigation into the man's death, the release states.

Police discovered the victim while investigating a 911 call for help that came from an apartment complex shortly before 11:00 p.m., police said. According to authorities, a suspect in the victim’s death was arrested in a nearby apartment.

The name of the complex wasn't immediately released.

The victim's name will not be released until next of kin has been notified, and the arrested man's name is being withheld pending further investigation, police said.
