San Jose HS Coach Accused Of Inappropriate Acts With Children

SAN JOSE, CA — A soccer coach at Gunderson High School in San Jose was arrested on suspicion of inappropriate contact with three girls under the age of 18, San Jose police said Tuesday.

Ricardo Gutierrez, 34, turned himself in to police on Monday, after police received information last month about Gutierrez's alleged conduct. He is a walk-on varsity soccer coach at Gunderson High School, and a coach for San Jose Surf girls' soccer team, according to police.

Gutierrez is accused of inappropriate conduct with three girls who were 15, 16, and 16 years old, between November 2018 and November 2019. The alleged incidents happened in San Jose, police said.

Gutierrez was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of three counts of annoying or molesting a child under the age of 18.
