Memphis in May trivia quiz: How well do you know Beale Street, barbecue and, um, bagpipes?

John Beifuss
Memphis Commercial Appeal

Well, here's another one, gentle reader.

Another of our multiple-choice Memphis trivia quizzes.

We ran one in February about Ja Morant, when the young Memphis Grizzly was affirming his superstar status. And we ran one in March about "Memphis and the Oscars," because, yup, the Academy Awards ceremony was held in March.

So it's only logical that this month's quiz focus on next month's main event: The Memphis in May International Festival, which, in fact, kicks off this month with what may be its primary component: the Beale Street Music Festival, which begins April 29.

Memphis in May food:What's to eat at Beale Street Music Festival? Here are some of our favorites

This quiz, like its predecessors, privileges entertainment over education. The hope is that you will be intrigued or amused, even if you know nothing (and even if you care nothing) about Memphis in May. That's why most of the questions focus on the festival's social events — the music festival, the barbecue contest, and so  on — rather than on its economic impact or mission statement.

Got that? Good. Let's begin!
