WORTHINGTON - The Minnesota Department of Agriculture will hold a public hearing on its proposed rule on nitrogen fertilizer use Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Worthington.
The proposed rule would restrict farmers from applying nitrogen fertilizer in the fall or on frozen soils that are vulnerable to nitrate contamination.
