The most underrated company in the industry. Their comprehensive plan is fully packed and not overpriced. I paid $1.7k for five years of coverage. It's not always the company. Those technicians really are lazy. Dang COVID made everyone a little lazy.

These are what we used to call "Hard Sell" salesmen. They are fast talkers, always trying to take more money from you and then don't abide by the "cancellation state law codes" in refunding or reversing charges. Buyer beware of this company. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and insurance board of inquiry in California.

I requested service for my water heater and after 1 week of waiting they sent me an email stating they had scheduled an appointment for me with a contractor. Since the date didn't work for me I contacted the company they supposedly made the appointment with and was told there was no appointment and this company didn't even work with home warranty companies, strictly with homeowners.

After waiting two weeks more on February 22nd, I contacted HSC and requested they cancel my policy, I purchased a three-year contract at the representative's urging, and was told the policy was canceled effective that day and a refund of $795.31 would be mailed out. Two days later I get another email with an appointment for another tech to come to my home to service the water heater. I obviously canceled this appointment since I had requested to cancel my policy two days prior. Today I checked the website and it still shows I have an active policy. Do Not Do Business with these people, they are scammers and rip-off artists.

I had a membership with this company for 3 years. Customer service is very frustrating and disappointing. They delayed service and could not find a technician to service the area. One particular incident is when I have 2 issues, fix the BR lights, and replace leaking pool actuator valve. The technician did not show up, while I lost a day's wages since I missed work that day to accommodate the technician's schedule to supposedly fix the issues. The company couldn't find anyone to service the area, and so I have to find my own technician, when those issues were finally addressed, they would not refund the claims, offered only $150 of the $411 that I spent to fix the issues.

I have to call multiple, I mean multiple times to follow up on the claims and refund. They delay everything till you lose your patience. I finally cancelled my membership. It would have been better to save your monthly membership fee and keep it aside in case something's need to be fixed in my house, than continue to contribute to the monthly membership with this company and waste your money. THE COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM!!! PLEASE DON'T BE A MEMBER OF THIS HOME WARRANTY!!

When I only could give 0 stars – Here’s why: In 10/3023 I bought 2 five-year HSC warranty contracts for 2 rentals. At one rental I filed a claim with HSC on Monday, January 8th, 2024, in the morning, because the water heater seemed to be not working. A technician will contact me, HSC said. When NO technician contacted me, on Tuesday I called the technician’s company and asked, when they will inspect the water heater and the answer was: Friday. I told them that is not acceptable to have no hot water for so long in the winter. Finally, they sent a technician on Wednesday. Thursday, I asked HSC, they declined the claim because of corrosion. The technician told me, that he didn’t mention corrosion in his report. It is not acceptable to take so much time for a decision - and for no corrosion stated in the report. I canceled the contract.

For the other rental I canceled the contract as well – with no claim, because I don’t need a contract for nothing. I paid for 2 five-year contracts for two rentals $3,899.70 and after only 3 month and no approved claim they only refunded $2,313.96. The difference is and I paid: $1,585.74. That’s why I can NOT recommend Home Service Club.

Property is in Petaluma, CA. 2022 had a garbage disposal claim. No technician ever called. Could not connect easily with customer service. Had to find a plumber and pay for the service myself. It is quite cumbersome to get a reimbursement claim processed. You have to rely on the technician to login to their website and report the service after you have already paid them. Receipt is not enough. I found a nice guy who did it for me and the reimbursement came in a month or so. The real problem? They have not fixed their service issues after 2 years! 2024 and my second claim ----> same thing thing happening again. No appointment. Can't speak to service. Have to find a technician and hope they will login to their website to prove service. Receipt is not enough. Terrible service. Will not renew with this company.

I am a Real Estate Broker in WA State and Hawaii. I have purchased many home buyers warranties as closing gifts for my clients. I purchased a home buyers warranty for mechanical systems in my new home in Hilo, Hawaii. I have never filed a claim until ONE MONTH AGO! I have a clog in my plumbing system in my bathroom and I am unable to use the toilet, sink or shower. It has been 31 days since my claim was filed. I have called customer service every day only to be told they 'need more time to find a vendor'. I asked for a list of vendors they have tried to contact, but they refuse to provide me with the list of plumbing companies. Then my claim was closed without any notice to me. I had to re-open my claim on October 18, 2023. It has now been another 7 days of being told the same lies.

My legally binding contract states that I a vendor will be assigned within 48 hours (max) of my claim. The Home Warranty Club is a fraudulent business. They took my money and have breached our contract by not providing me services I paid for in full on November 30, 2022. I have tried to speak with a supervisor, only to be told they don't have any way to transfer me to a supervisor. More lies. My situation is dire and I will likely end up having to hire my own plumbing contractor. I have asked for a refund of my contract, again told from customer service that they don't have the "ability" to do refunds.

I am so frustrated and feel horrible that I have purchased several of the home warranties with The Home Service Club for my Buyers as closing gifts. They will likely have the same run-around based on the dozens of horrific reviews on this platform. DO NOT PURCHASE A HOME WARRANTY FROM THE HOME SERVICE CLUB. You may as well light $500 on fire, because this company is a SCAM!

The Home Service Club is a SCAM. I signed up for the 3 year comprehensive home warranty plan after they promised me to have a tech out within 48 hours. Four of the five claims I have submitted never once had a technician out for service within 48 hours. I have had to find my own tech each time and then go on for months with them while they don’t even reimburse me for 50% of the work.

THIS company is a SCAM! Their customer service department is rude and unwilling to help. Every time they say they are working on providing a tech, a week can go by after submitting my claim and still no service has been provided to remedy the problem. They refuse to transfer me to anyone for escalating an issue with management. Also, when they say they will call at a scheduled time they don’t. Their employees will often hang up on me or refuse to help. I am a Veteran and this type of service would not have flown in the military. Again this company is a SCAM!

When I call for a tech they are able to be here within 24 hours. Once a tech was assigned to me but cancelled (the Home Service Club (HSC) never told me this) and said most techs in Washington refuse to work with HSC because they never reimburse them. See there is a problem! I would not recommend. Go with American Home Shield or anyone else. HSC is not what they advertise!

I have been working on fixing my hot water tank for the last month and a half after a month. They finally found a technician to come out to diagnose my hot water tank and their diagnosis was to replace it. They did not like that answer so they canceled that technician and put in another ticket for another one to come out..Couldn’t find one, So I had to find one myself. My technician stated that it also needed a hot water tank replacement, and they told me because of somewhat of sediment on the bottom of the hot water tank that they will not replace the hot water tank. Buyers beware.. it’s not a warranty just a ploy to take your money! They will find any reason to not pay a claim.. The last Lady to lie to me was Star and she said her name is Star..

If I could rate The Home Service Club lower than 1, I would at least rate it -1! This issue continues to be unresolved for the past three months and counting! This experience continues to be inefficient and extremely frustrating! My claim for a leaking refrigerator started on May 19, 2023; we had to disconnect our refrigerator due to the heavy leak on our kitchen floor. This issue continues to be unresolved to date. A technician BTEC Appliance was scheduled by HSC on May 23 for a visit on May 29. Technician arrived late, inspected the refrigerator, mentioned that a water valve part was needed and that he would report to HSC. The requisite $65 was paid to the technician. HSC approved the diagnosis report and BTEC technician was scheduled to return to fix the refrigerator on June 13. He never showed up.

We continuously called HSC for the solution and after many calls they eventually re-scheduled another technician Fixwell for another visit. This occurred on July 12, 2023 and technician mentioned that there were some missing parts and what was needed to be done. He was trying to submit a diagnosis report to HSC a few times but due to HSC portal issues he was unable to do so. To date, the technician has been unsuccessful in sending in the diagnosis report as the HSC portal continues not to allow him to submit the report.

This inability for the technician to submit the report continues till today. And every time we call HSC, they said that they would contact the technician; the technician has told us many times that he has reported to HSC that the portal does not allow him to submit the report. A Mobius strip of a situation! These are technicians that HSC finds for us and makes it extremely difficult for us to use the option to find a reliable technician for ourselves and get reimbursed, therefore we end up waiting and waiting for HSC to resolve the issue quickly.

My daughter and I have called HSC at least 10 times during these three months. In every call, we have to restart to explain the issue and status, when all our calls and status should have been recorded in HSC’s system for the customer rep to read. In one call my daughter put HSC and the technician of Fixwell on a joint call to explain HSC’s portal issue and inability of the technician to submit the diagnosis report – still no solution. In our calls, the HSC customer rep would repetitively state that they needed to find out from the technician what the issue was and why he could not submit the report. When we ask how we could escalate this issue beyond the HSC customer rep and supervisor, we were told that they are not allowed to give us that information.

In summary, these are the takeaways:

      1) Claim resolution is severely inadequate and frustrating and customer reps seem to read off a playbook.
      2) We have to start explaining the issue every time we follow up with a call. Same explanation from HSC and I do not think I have seen a better merry-go-round on earth.
      3) The technical issue which has been shown to HSC by the technician, including a joint call among HSC, Fixwell technician and my daughter, continues to be unresolved.
      4) I wonder if the HSC CEO buys home warranty and if so if it is from The Home Service Club. I wonder if I can get support from the HSC CEO to get this resolved. My bet is not.

      5) There is a Latin saying, “Caveat emptor”, which means Buyer Beware. Caveat emptor on HSC!
