HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating separate car fires at two car lots in Luzerne County.

The three fires happened early Friday evening in Hanover Township along the Sans Souci Parkway. Two of them were at JD ByRider and the other was at Sans Souci Motor Sales.

Investigators say all three fires appear to be intentionally set. While neither business commented to Eyewitness News, a customer at JD ByRider reacted to the apparent arsons.

“There are other things in the world that can occupy your time besides lighting cars on fire. I get it might be fun for certain people, but it’s not. It’s destroying other people’s stuff and you shouldn’t,” customer Laura Ozmina said.

Investigators have surveillance of a BMW seen in the area at the time of the car fires. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hanover Township Police Department at 570-825-1254 or 911.
