Crash Closes I-55 in New Madrid County

KEWANEE, Mo. - Six miles of Interstate 55 in New Madrid County is closed. This is between mile markers 52 and 58 near Kewanee.
The northbound lanes are being rerouted off of Interstate 55 at Route P near Kewanee, onto Route 61 and then rerouted back to Interstate 55 at Route 80 near Mathews.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, there was at least one semi-truck involved in the wreck about 10:41 Wednesday morning. No one has been killed and there are no reports of hazardous waste.
The northbound lanes are expected to reopen at 5 p.m.
