Clément Derock and Frederic Lalande, co-founders of École Intuit Lab

École Intuit Lab, a French institute of design, digital and strategy, was co-founded by industry veterans in Paris in 2001. Clément Derock and Frederic Lalande established it with a vision to build a culture — not just a school. A culture where creative minds are free to innovate, create, be part of a design revolution and believe in bringing a positive change to the world through design. Today, India is home to two (Mumbai & Kolkata) of the five (the other three being in Paris, Marseille & Sao Paulo) campuses under the École Intuit Lab umbrella.
Advantages of enrolling at Ecole Intuit Lab
Futuristic curriculum: Design education in India has not kept up with the new demands of the 21st century. A lot of pioneering design schools that are considered sacrosanct in the space have failed to evolve with time and still follow outdated methods of teaching and learning. The advantage of studying at institutes like École Intuit Lab is that they offer a curriculum that is futuristic and to the point. A lot of effort is put into designing courses that demand students go beyond aesthetics and technical expertise to think intelligently, strategically, and professionally about their contribution to the creative world. Students become adept not just at sketching ideas on a drawing board but also taking them to the digital space and eventually translating them into reality. Emphasis is placed on students expressing their creativity with the current world issues and problem-solving techniques and not just textbook issues. For eg. The Game Arts and Design course is not only futuristic but its partnerships with gaming major UBISOFT is a testament to the college’s partnership and job placements which is one of a kind course in India.

International Affiliation & Exposure: With a presence in multiple continents and anchored in the belief that exposure is key to broadening students’ minds, École Intuit Lab offers innumerable opportunities to its students to interact with the world beyond them. Through their vast international network, they organize international workshops, masterclasses, exchange programs, travel, and internships, for students to cultivate an understanding of other cultures. A series of masterclasses by industry-led experts are held for students to interact with and learn from them.
Study Abroad: Students can opt to study for a duration of a semester at one of École Intuit Lab international campuses in Paris, Marseille, or Sao Paulo. A 2-week stint where students get an opportunity to immerse into the creative culture of various countries abroad is also offered to all students. To help students’ transition into the new culture, in addition to creative classes, the college also offers practical learning and language classes.

Industry ready professionals: The curriculum at École Intuit Lab introduces students into the real world throughout their education, by cultivating a balance between training and experience; between theory and practice; and between academic and professional in a seamless manner. As a result, students develop their own intelligent, reflective, creative personalities alongside a professional approach and experience, making sure that every student who walks out of the campus is equipped for the professional world.
Internships across the globe: The college does not just prepare students for the industry; it places them in the very center of it. Its longstanding partnerships with agencies across the globe give our students a network of international choices for their internship. An intensive semester-long internship in an agency in India or abroad gives students a chance to apply their experiences and expertise in a collaborative professional environment. For a number of our students, these first steps abroad have turned into long-term posts across the world.

By bringing École Intuit Lab to India, the founders have sought to draw on the cultural powerhouse that a French-Indian collaboration can bring.
“As creative professionals ourselves, our engagement with design, we seek to equip our students not just with the skills we have acquired over the years, but with the versatility necessary to adapt to the technologies, communication, media and markets of their future. Our creative education is not meant just to produce artists, but individuals who have developed altruism, humility, and a desire to contribute to their lives and those of the societies in which they live. This quest demands introspection and effort, which are integral to our pedagogical approach,” affirm Clément Derock and Frédéric Lalande, co-founders of École Intuit Lab.
