St. Port Lucie Truck Driver Killed On Interstate 4

A 64-year-old Port St. Lucie man was killed Wednesday, Oct. 10, when he began having a medical problem and lost control of his truck.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL -- A 64-year-old Port St. Lucie man was killed Wednesday, Oct. 10, when he began having a medical problem and lost control of his tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 4.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Ernest James was heading west on Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County at 5:21 p.m. when he had a medical emergency. The truck, which wasn’t carrying a load, left the highway, traveled onto the shoulder and collided with a fence. James was pronounced dead at the scene.
