Coronavirus In IL: NW Side Testing Spot Open For Those Over 60

CHICAGO, IL — People over 60 who have symptoms of the coronavirus can now be tested at a Northwest Side testing location, the Chicago Fire Department announced on social media. According to the fire department, the testing site is located at 6959 Forest Preserve Drive, where first responders and health care professionals are also being tested.

According to a tweet from Chicago Fire Media, this is the first time testing is open to members of the public over 60 years old who are showing symptoms of the coronavirus.

Testing is first come, first served, fire officials said.

On Friday, as more than 430 additional coronavirus cases were confirmed in Illinois, bringing the state's case count to 3,026, the United States passed a grim milestone, becoming the hardest-hit nation in the world when it comes to the virus.
