MOUNT PLEASANT, MI — After two employees at a restaurant located inside the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort tested positive for COVID-19, the business has confirmed another employee tested positive for the virus.

The third employee is one of the casino’s table game dealers, officials with Soaring Eagle announced on July 10.

The employee developed symptoms while they were away from work and have not returned to work since then. While they were symptom-free at work, the employee may have been contagious while working from noon to 8 p.m. July 1 and July 2, according to a Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort press release.

Earlier this month, the business reported the Legends Diner, one of the restaurants located inside the casino, temporarily closed after two employees tested positive for COVID-19. Since then, all of the coworkers of the employees have been tested for virus and had negative results, according to the press release.

Soaring Eagle is working with the Mount Pleasant Health Department on contract tracing. As part of the contract tracing effort, the business is contacting any guests that they can identify through the use of its player tracking who may have had exposure, casino officials said.

Officials with Soaring Eagle recommends anyone experiencing symptoms of coronavirus to seek medical attention.

Soaring Eagle table games safety protocols includes physical barriers and masks required to be worn by all employees and guests.

Officials urge anyone who is sick or may have been exposed to anyone who, is to remain home.

COVID-19 PREVENTION TIPS

In addition to washing hands regularly and not touching your face, officials recommend practicing social distancing, assuming anyone may be carrying the virus.

Health officials say you should be staying at least 6 feet away from others and working from home, if possible.

Use disinfecting wipes or disinfecting spray cleaners on frequently-touched surfaces in your home (door handles, faucets, countertops) and carry hand sanitizer with you when you go into places like stores.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has also issued an executive order requiring people to wear face coverings over their mouth and nose while inside enclosed, public spaces.
