Interfaith Memorial Concert of HopeAn interfaith concert to include Mozart’s Requiem and Achron’s Hebrew Melody will be performed at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Miami on Sunday, May 30, at 4:30 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public and will be performed in the main sanctuary located at 3220 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33127.

Sinfonietta Society and Colonial Florida Cultural Heritage Center, joined by Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Martha/Mary Concerts and Jewish Community Services of South Florida, are collaborating to present an interfaith concert of hope to honor American veterans and the more than 500,000 souls lost due to COVID-19.

The ensemble consists of all professional musicians from South Florida who will perform gratis to support social services in the Miami community: The Sinfonietta Society Orchestra conducted by Aaron Kula, the Sinfonietta Choir directed by Dr. Giselle Elgarresta Rios, pianist Dr. Alan Mason, and violinist Carol Cole. Cantor Lisa Segal from Temple Beth Sholom in Miami Beach will open the concert with a musical prayer followed by Corpus Christi clergy offering blessings to the community. All donations will be tax deductible and given to Corpus Christi social service programs and Jewish Community Services of South Florida to support the needs of the community.

“Performing the music of Mozart and Achron is our way of healing a community’s collective grieving soul while supporting social services for those in need,” Kula says. “To quote the iconic Leonard Bernstein – We need to make music more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.”

CDC guidelines will be followed with limited seating and the concert will be streamed live on YouTube.

Those who wish to attend in person should reserve their seats by visiting: marthamaryconcerts.org.
