'It's NEVER on when they're around': Emmerdale's Charley Webb reveals her three kids are banned from watching the soap... after Debbie Dingle's shock return to the show

Emmerdale star Charley Webb has told how she doesn't let her children watch the soap, while her character Debbie Dingle was revealed as Al Chapman's mystery woman.

After months of speculation, viewers were left stunned during Friday's Christmas Day special as Debbie made a shocking return to the village as the other woman in Al's life.

But while the nail-biting episode attracted millions of viewers, Charley's children were not part of that figure as she revealed that they are not allowed to watch her on the ITV soap.

Decision: Emmerdale star Charley Webb has told how she doesn't let her children watch the soap, while her character Debbie Dingle was revealed as Al Chapman's mystery woman

The soap star, 32, shares sons Buster, 10, Bowie, four, and Ace, 17 months, with fellow Emmerdale star husband Matthew Wolfenden, 40.

Speaking to The Sun about her decision, she explained: 'As the kids are young, I don't let the kids watch it really so I'll have to catch up a few days later. Bowie's still a bit young to understand so we never have it on when they're around.'

Meanwhile, her comeback to the Dales was all the more shocking as earlier this year she said that she had 'no plans' to return from maternity leave after welcoming Ace in July last year.

And Charley told how she's had to keep her return a huge secret, so that viewers could get a huge surprise on the night.

She told the publication: 'It's been hard keeping filming a secret, I only told my close friends and family so there was less chance of it getting out.'

She added that she's 'known for a while' that Debbie would be revealed as shady businessman Al's (Michael Wildman) secret lover.

However, Debbie is unaware that she's actually Al's mistress and that he's in a relationship with Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade).

Debbie has been living in Scotland for months and only returned to Emmerdale after being invited to Chas and Paddy's Christmas Day wedding.

And Charley teased that when she does eventually discover the truth, there'll be hell to pay for Al.

She said: 'Debbie will always get her revenge, she's not one to let things go', before adding that Al had better 'watch out' as he's messed with the wrong Dingle.

The actress also hinted that Debbie is set to enlist fellow scorned woman Priya as part of her scheme, adding that it'll be a 'really fun twist'.

Emmerdale returns Monday 28th December at 7pm on ITV.
