Jamie’s story: Sweet Jamie was hit by a car in March and taken to a local shelter, which sent her to an emergency vet. With limited resources, the shelter sought a rescue to offer Jamie a better future, and Alura Always and Forever Pekingese Rescue stepped in. She had surgery to put a pin in her leg so it would heal properly. She gets around on her splinted leg, but she can’t go far. Her dressing must be changed every week and must be kept dry. Until she heals, she must sleep in a bed on the floor, although she would probably much rather be in a human bed! She loves cuddling on the sofa and keeping her foster mom in her sights. A foster home would be welcome if that’s easier than adopting Jamie, especially until her leg heals.
Adoption fee: $225, includes current vaccinations and microchip
