Converse boasts a long history with the game of basketball — ranging all the way back to the Chuck Taylor — and now it’s exploring part of the lore behind its classic Pro Leather with a two-shoe “Raise Your Game” pack. A hoops-centric silhouette that made its official debut in 1976, the Pro Leather was frequently spotted on college and professional courts during the late ’70s and early ’80s, and was even worn by luminaries like Julius “Dr. J” Irving. Converse was also the official sponsor of the US national team during that period, so the “Raise Your Game” pack nods to global basketball competition with its colorway and accents.

Both the Pro Leather Hi and Pro Leather Ox feature the same color scheme, using a crisp white leather as the base and equipping a egret suede on the eyestays. Converse’s signature Chevron logo on the midfoot is dressed in a rich navy, and the heel follows suit with more navy detailing. A gold foil “Pro Leather” logo appears debossed on each lateral quarter, while more egret shades on the suede tongue tag, leather sockliner and rubber midsole complete the visible part of the look. However, the special details are continued on the insole, which boasts a patriotic American flag print.

The Converse Pro Leather “Raise Your Game” pack releases globally at Nike’s webstore on December 21, but is also available early via KITH flagship stores and the KITH online shop, with MSRP for each pair set at $100 USD.

Converse is always busy with the classics: it recently gave the Chuck 70 a wild swirl print.
